About this release
Golden Child brings Steady Weather’s blend of disco, house and jazz into a live electronic setting. Led by viola player and producer Tamil Rogeon, the Melbourne project includes long-time collaborators Rita Satch, Ben Grayson and Graeme Pogson, with bass from Luke Hodgson. Punchy synths and a firm rhythm section frame Satch’s vocals on Walk Into The Light, while the wider release combines improvisational detail with soulful club grooves. KIT adds a further vocal colour, and remixes from Kid Golden and The Possé extend the material into different rhythmic spaces. The record connects ensemble playing with a warm, analogue-inspired approach to electronic production.
