About this release
Distorted Clamor explores the possibilities of acoustic sound transformed through distortion. Suso Sáiz uses water, wood and metals as filters alongside effects pedals, building the album without synthesizers. Its eleven compositions turn clicks, clipped textures and other sounds often discarded in recording into the material for layered drones and shifting atmospheres. The long title piece opens the double LP, followed by shorter works that continue the search for detail within apparently noisy surfaces. Released by Music From Memory after Resonant Bodies and Nothing Is Objective, the album extends Sáiz’s experimental practice, with mixing by Emil Sáiz and sleeve art and design by Michael Willis.
