About this release
Takashi Shima’s Sun Tan Club For ‘Light Tanning’ returns as the first release on Hawara International, the Edition Hawara sublabel. Made by the Piper musician as a soundtrack to summer leisure, the album moves between ambient music, new age and relaxed fusion.
Shima plays DX7, Jupiter-8 and Prophet-5 synthesisers alongside Rhodes and Drumulator programming, with percussion by Tetsuaki Hoashi. Recorded and remixed at Sound Design Studio by Masahiro “Mick” Terada, the music combines electronic textures with a relaxed instrumental palette. The original project was tied to a Hawaiian Tropic promotion, placing the record within the leisure culture that inspired its name. This six-track LP marks the launch of the Edition Hawara sublabel.
