The CJP Band - Freedom

The CJP Band follow their run of well-received releases with Freedom, a limited 7-inch vinyl single on Supa Jams blending soul, jazz-funk and groove-heavy funk. Following support from Gilles Peterson and an appearance at We Out Here, the band distil their live energy into two warm, summer-ready cuts.

Freedom pairs heavy drum breaks and funky bass with a vocal from guitarist Geoff Lai, while the flip, String Dub, strips the track back around the band's signature strings. Pressed in a hand-stamped sleeve, it is a concise showcase of the group's soulful, rhythm-led sound.
