About this release
Habitat Ensemble's self-titled debut grew out of a summer school in Maříž, a village in the southern Czech Republic near the Austrian border. Led by Marius Houschyar, the collective formed through workshops that connected musical experimentation with poetry, song, dance and the surrounding landscape. Recorded from that shared activity in August 2022, the album translates the community's exchanges into eleven pieces, from Two Voices In The Field to Outro. Music From Memory presents the recording on vinyl, with artwork by David McFarline. Its ambient and experimental setting reflects the collective process behind the music.
