About this release
The Hacker and Rein's We Come Alive brings an electroclash background together with darkwave-influenced vocals and stripped-back machine funk. Angular rhythms, acid lines and jacked drums give the track its physical drive, while Rein's voice adds a more open, melodic edge above the low end. The pair describe the song through the feeling of connection and release found on the dancefloor, with references to LFO, Kraftwerk and Alison Moyet informing its sound. This Rekids single pairs the full vocal track with an instrumental version on the reverse.
