About this release
A Chance For Hope brings The Live Band's early-1980s soul recording to 7-inch vinyl, pairing the main song with its Prelude. Led by bassist and vocalist Kenny Chavis, the group combined soul singing with funk, disco and jazz-influenced arrangements. The main version develops a plea for change through a full band backing, while the shorter Prelude uses orchestration and atmospheric sounds to introduce the same theme. On this single, the main vocal takes the A-side and the Prelude appears on the reverse. The Sound Of Brooklyn's licensed, remastered reissue retains the two-part relationship in a compact format.
