About this release
Loni Gamble Band and vocalist Lisa Warrington’s I Like the Way You Do It returns on Peoples Potential Unlimited, pairing the original recording with a Tom Noble edit. First self-released through Philadelphia’s Sound Modification imprint in 1984, the song followed Gamble’s synth-funk debut for Tracey/Unidisc. Its initial reach was local, with radio play and distribution through regional record shops. The PPU edition gives the original a full side, with Noble’s alternative treatment on the reverse. Across both versions, the focus stays on the song’s vocal-led blend of boogie, funk and disco.
