About this release
The Mighty Zaf and Linkwood pay tribute to Phil Asher with two recordings that connect disco, boogie and space-funk. “Thinking About Phlash” opens with a prominent guitar riff over a deep disco bassline, adding spacious electronic touches around the groove. On the reverse, “Phlash Boogie” gives more room to keyboard parts and a funk-led rhythmic interplay. Released on the 80s label, the twelve-inch keeps the focus on the pair’s arrangements and the shared musical connection behind the tribute, with one track on each side.
