About this release
Danny Krivit’s Mr. K edits connect jazz-funk and Philadelphia soul across two sides. Always There refines Ronnie Laws’s 1975 instrumental, reshaping its opening with a nod to Side Effect’s horn-stab introduction and adding a drums-only outro. For The Love Of Money turns to The O’Jays with MFSB, centring the bass line and vocal performance while drawing from both the album and single versions. The edits give each arrangement a more direct shape for mixing, retaining the musical detail that connects these two distinct approaches to funk and soul.
