About this release
This O'Jays EP brings together recordings from the group's Philadelphia International catalogue, tracing the connection between their vocal soul sound and the development of disco. The extended I Love Music leads with lush strings and an insistent groove, followed by My Favourite Person, Back Stabbers and Message In Our Music. Production and arrangements associated with Gamble and Huff give the selection its cohesive character, balancing richly orchestrated backing with the group's harmonies. The reissue was prepared with Above Board Distribution and Sony Music using original source material, presenting the four tracks in their familiar Philadelphia International setting.
