About this release
Hatful of Hollow gathers The Smiths’ early BBC radio sessions, singles and B-sides into a picture of the band’s first years. Originally released in 1984, it places session performances of This Charming Man, Still Ill and What Difference Does It Make? beside William, It Was Really Nothing and Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now. How Soon Is Now? stretches the band’s guitar sound in a different direction, while Back To The Old House and Please Please Please, Let Me Get What I Want reveal a quieter side. The collection complements the debut album through alternate performances and songs from outside its original sequence.
