Theon CROSS - Intra I LP

Intra-I places Theon Cross' tuba at the centre of a record shaped by jazz and Afro-Caribbean sound-system culture. Dub, hip-hop, soca and grime inform the arrangements, extending the instrument's role beyond conventional accompaniment and into the rhythmic foundation of the music.

The album also introduces guest vocalists into Cross' solo work, with contributions from Remi Graves, Shumba Maasai, Afronaut Zu, Ahnansé and Consensus, alongside fellow tuba player Oren Marshall. We Go Again, Roots and The Spiral sit within a ten-track programme that follows the earlier Fyah album. Released on New Soil, this LP presents the complete Intra-I sequence.
