About this release
Profunda Alma finds Tigerbalm drawing on Brazilian music across two original songs and three remixes for Razor-N-Tape. Joy Tyson sings on the title track, where percussion, bass and guitar stabs support a dramatic vocal setting. Vem Cá brings João Selva into a more buoyant, samba-influenced arrangement before Yuksek takes the song further towards the club. Make-A-Dance occupy the reverse with two versions of Profunda Alma: an Acid Remix and a Tribal Dub. The five-track EP connects the originals’ live and rhythmic character with dancefloor reinterpretations, keeping the two singers central to the project’s contrasting moods.
