About this release
Tom Esselle returns to WOLF Music following his Praise Bes EP with a set that moves between garage-influenced rhythms, soulful vocals and deeper chord-led arrangements. “Livewire” opens with a heads-down groove shaped by UK garage, before “Don’t Have To” brings warmer keys and a sweet vocal to the A-side. “Small Talk” places a quirky vocal sample over a steady rhythmic foundation, while “Spaced Out” closes with emotive chords and a more reflective feel. The contrast between the sides gives the record room to shift its emphasis, keeping Esselle’s melodic instincts and attention to groove at the centre.
