About this release
Tone B. Nimble opens Church Music with five edits connecting gospel vocals, funk rhythms and modern soul to the disco dancefloor. The Chicago DJ and producer, also one half of Al-Tone, stretches the source material into cuts that keep their spiritual character while making room for dancers. From Jee-He-Zus and He's My Guiding Light to On Time and Sweet Jesus, the selection follows the meeting point between church music and club music. Hallelujah provides the release's Church Music Theme, completing a record equally suited to a Sunday session or a soul-minded DJ set.
