About this release
Scruniversal pairs Tony Lavrutz and Los Protos with Martem and Ferdi Ferreira for two rhythm-focused tracks. Samba Du Adidas brings together an early electro and hip hop feel, Latin percussion, bird calls and filtered spoken words over a taut bassline. Its slow, inviting pace gives the individual sounds space around the beat. On the reverse, Chumba Lala uses firm analogue drums, grinding bass and clipped accents, with old-school house chords colouring the arrangement. The pairing connects electro detail and funk with a direct, break-led approach, giving each collaboration its own character on the seven-inch.
