About this release
Trá Pháidín’s first album for World Of Echo brings Irish traditional music into contact with krautrock, free jazz, drone and improvisation. Cloch 's Claí takes dry-stone walls as its organising image, with ten tracks forming the stones of a changing musical structure.
Inspired by Myles na gCopaleen’s An Béal Bocht, the record explores language, housing and the cultural life of the Gaeltacht through a satirical lens. The collective’s arrangements draw on ornamentation and accompaniment in Irish music, allowing each performance to take a different shape.
