Trev - Nightjar EP

Trev’s Nightjar EP connects broken beat with influences from Brazil, Iran, Lisbon and Japan. Released by Dance Regular, the four tracks reflect his work as both a keyboard player and producer, with detailed percussion and melodic arrangements throughout. Nightjar combines pandeiro and caxixi with deep chords and a jazz-harmony break. Late Flip brings koto, flutes and Rhodes into a rolling broken rhythm, while Beijo draws on baile percussion, vocal fragments and organ bass. Grey closes the record with a patient house and bruk arrangement, filtering chords over a steady bassline. The result moves between rhythmic weight and carefully placed instrumental detail.
