About this release
Tushen Raï’s Creation Through References revisits his love of record collecting through five collaborative tracks. Sampling and rebuilding overlooked music from the 1980s and 1990s, he brings fragments of older recordings into a percussive electronic setting.
Mangabey, Neskeh, Pedro Bertho, Warum and Cornelius Doctor each join Raï for a track. The resulting EP connects house and tribal rhythms with references reaching across Peru, Finland, Italy and France. Released by Cracki Records, it treats musical influence as a conversation between collectors, producers and friends.
