About this release
Urban Soul’s ‘Alright’ receives two interpretations on Peppermint Jam, revisiting the song Roland Clark originally wrote and produced in 1991. Clark and Ceybil Jeffries provide the vocals at the heart of the recording. DJ Spen and MicFreak take the first side with their Tech-mania Mix, introducing new chords and a soulful house bassline. Mellow Man follows on the reverse with the Opposites Attract Mix, drawing on a more jackin’ groove. The twelve-inch brings the two remix approaches together, giving each a full side to develop its rhythmic treatment of the song.
