About this release
Aftermath And Transitions documents the musical connections formed between Ukrainian musicians and Cologne’s independent scene from 1994 to 1996. Svitlana Nianio, Yewgeny Taran and their collaborators worked with Michael Springer and Guido Erfen through sessions at Phanton and SHM studios. The selection moves from Nianio’s work with Phanton to recordings with GeeNerve and Taran, three tracks by Solar and Taran’s Death And The Bachelor in its original version. Spontaneous playing sits alongside more elaborate arrangements, linking keyboards, vocals and exploratory studio work. Stroom gathers ten recordings from these different incarnations of the Ukraine–Cologne collaboration.
