Various - Denshi Ongaku No Bigaku Vol. 4

Cosmocities Records continues its survey of Japanese electronic music with Denshi Ongaku No Bigaku Vol. 4, compiled by Matt Soulie. This double LP settles into the deeper end of house: Kaoru Inoue’s remix of SOFT’s ‘Art Farmer’ brings rolling percussion, while XTAL’s ‘Heavenly Overtone’ opens out into shimmering keys and cosmic atmosphere.

Tokyo Black Star, Slow Didi, Manabu Nagayama and Soichi Terada keep the focus on warm, patient grooves. Satoshi Fumi and Yoshi Horino supply the instrumental remix of ‘Low Tension’, with further contributions from Hiroshi Watanabe and The Backwoods. Bitowa and YAMADAtheGIANT close things out with ‘Forest’, completing eight selections that move from soulful deep house into more hypnotic club territory.
