About this release
Black Vinyl Records marks thirty years with a selection from its catalogue, bringing together Kerri Chandler, Tedd Patterson, Fresh & Low and Arnold Jarvis. Chandler’s My Old Friend Alan pays tribute to label founder Alan Russell, while David Harness supplies the vocal rework of Patterson’s Roots. Fresh & Low’s Fever Tension appears in its vocal mix, and Jarvis closes the record with Rising Into Joy. The programme connects the label’s deep house foundations with its vocal and soulful side. Crates Motel’s 2022 remasters of the Chandler and Fresh & Low tracks are included on this four-track anniversary edition.
