About this release
Luke Una's third É Soul Cultura compilation follows the connections he hears between records across styles and tempos, with the dancefloor understood as a place for shared experience. Soul, boogie, jazz-funk, house and disco meet more unusual electronic rhythms, moving from Harris & Orr's Spread Love towards the deep house of Fatdog's Remember. Along the way, Vital Disorders reinterpret Fela Kuti, DJ Food appears in an extended DJ Harvey remix, and drum-machine funk sits beside percussive Italo disco. The selection reflects Una's broad approach to DJing, bringing contrasting records together through their capacity to create movement and connection.
