About this release
Kalita returns to the archives of Maurice Horwitz's Music Team label for a selection of disco and boogie recordings from South Africa. Linda's I Love Soweto, originally released in 1986, opens the EP before Abigail Kubheka's Charisma reaches back to 1978 and the Spinner subsidiary. Jappie Lebona's You've Got It follows on the reverse, alongside both vocal and instrumental versions of Norma T's Move To The Beat. Producer Tom Mkhize connects those later recordings, reflecting the development of the label's sound through the 1980s. Remastered for this release, the selection brings several artists and periods of the archive into one sequence.
