About this release
Tehrangeles Vice documents Iranian diaspora pop made in Los Angeles between 1983 and 1993. Licensed from Taraneh Enterprises, Discotchari's compilation brings twelve recordings together, tracing how artists combined Persian pop with synthesizers, post-disco rhythms, electronic beats and rock guitar. The selection includes Shahrokh, Ebi, Sattar, Leila Forouhar and Black Cats, presenting a scene shaped by both cultural continuity and the sounds of its adopted city. Audio was remastered at Osiris Studio. The gatefold double LP includes lyrics and translations, reproductions of original cassette artwork and a booklet with photographs and notes by Dr. Farzaneh Hemmasi.
