About this release
Universo Positivo gathers four remixers around recordings by MDA Grooves and South Bay Jams. Kai Alcé brings a smooth, jazz-inflected treatment to Sonido Latino, while Sean McCabe retains the samba movement of Ipanema Jazz within a deeper house arrangement. JKriv reshapes Caparica Sunset with horns, acid touches and breakbeats, and Medlar closes with a warm, melodic version of U R The Revolution. Written and produced by label founder Joseph Salvador, the source tracks connect the EP’s different approaches. The remixes move between Latin rhythms, jazz colour and the melodic side of house.
