About this release
Downundaground II brings together Australian producers and instrumentalists working with electronic rhythm and texture. Compiled by Kurt Paradise for La Sape, it follows the first volume from 2019 with a selection assembled through an open call for submissions. Established collaborators sit alongside artists discovered through that process, giving the compilation a broad view of connected scenes across the country. Rob LFO, Alexander Flood, Jack Prest and Bike Thief are among the contributors, with the music ranging through experimental beats and leftfield instrumental forms. Prest also mastered the collection, whose emphasis stays on individual approaches to production rather than a single shared style.
