About this release
Michel Veenstra draws on the records of the 1970s and 1980s for the second Klinkhamer Records compilation. The Groningen shop owner joins folk, jazz and funk across eight selections, setting instrumental pieces alongside vocals in English, Swedish and French. Anne-Marie Giørtz opens with Philosophy, followed by Urban Hansson’s Sengakuji, while Sara Alexander, Afrodisax and Dave Plaehn bring different songwriting voices into the sequence. Rick Panzer’s extended Pre-Stretch Warm Up takes a full side before Roger Ekman and René van Helsdingen close the set. Remastered from original vinyl, the double album reflects Veenstra’s broad musical interests and the connections between listening music and dancefloor grooves.
