About this release
ATA’s second Library Archive draws on the atmosphere of classic production music, with a particular affection for the organ-led sound of Italian group I Marc 4. Recorded at the label’s Leeds studio during autumn 2020, the album uses vintage instruments, equipment and recording methods to build twelve compact scenes. The Glass Eye introduces tense bass, percussion and organ, while Ice Cool adds ethereal vocal textures. The second side shifts through Fight Or Fuzz, the eerie Mysterious Manor and the brisk organ-and-bongo interplay of Push And Go. Funk, jazz and imagined soundtrack moods run through the record’s tightly arranged miniatures.
