About this release
Two 1970s recordings receive extended dancefloor treatments on this A & R Edits twelve-inch. Ian Ossia’s “Papa Stoned” reworks The Temptations’ “Papa Was A Rolling Stone”, focusing on the original’s persistent groove and psychedelic atmosphere. On the reverse, “Dream A Dream” revisits Crown Heights Affair’s “Dreaming A Dream” through Ian Dewhirst’s 1994 ID edit, retouched by Ché and Matica. Their version aligns the beats, adds overdubs and creates an extended introduction and ending for mixing. The release pairs Ossia’s driving approach with a refreshed disco arrangement on the second side.
