About this release
The Disco Express marks its hundredth release with a compilation spanning vocal disco, soulful house and funk-driven club music. The selection combines original songs with picks from the label’s catalogue, bringing together its regular contributors and established guests. Inaya Day joins Golden Gate on ‘My Name Is Love’, Michelle Weeks appears with Gabriel Deb, and Stephanie Sounds features alongside Ayce & Spirit of House. Remix contributions include Derrick Carter, John Morales and James Juke, while Bustin’ Loose reworks the Fatback Band’s ‘Do The Bus Stop’. Across the set, contemporary production meets the label’s grounding in disco arrangements, live-sounding grooves and song-led dance music.
