Wamono A to Z presents: "Blow Up" Trio finds DJ Chintam exploring the Trio Records catalogue for Japanese jazz-funk, fusion and rare groove recorded between 1973 and 1981. Across eight tracks, crisp drum breaks, prominent basslines and lively horn arrangements bring together different corners of the label's output.

The selection includes Tonpei Hidari, Fumio Karashima, Takao Uematsu and Hiroshi Murakami & Dancing Sphinx. Chintam, who runs Tokyo's Blow Up record shop, gives the compilation a DJ's sense of flow while leaving room for the musicians' individual styles.
