About this release
Gratis Club is Verdo’s first full-length album, a tribute to the venue in Senigallia where he played and directed the music. Piano melodies, Italo disco, Hi-NRG and trance draw on the energy of that dancefloor, while softer passages leave room for reflection. Bright arpeggios and analogue drums give the opening a lift; elsewhere, reflective synth chords, vocoder and slower rhythms shift the mood towards late-night listening. Produced at Duscio Studio in Macerata, the album features mixing and additional production from David Woods. Its closing stretch moves from the drive of “Lest We Forget” into the gentler atmosphere of “Little Blue”.
