About this release
Vick Lavender’s Essential Traxx Vol. 2 follows the musician and producer’s longstanding connection between house, jazz and soul. Consequences features Spike Rebel over organic percussion and warm keyboard playing, with a loose, flowing groove shaped by Lavender’s live-instrument approach. On the reverse, Thanks I Get brings Cei Bei’s soulful vocal into a setting of deep chords and steady house rhythm. The two tracks continue the sound developed through Lavender’s Sophisticado label and his earlier work with Strictly Jaz Unit, keeping the interplay of musicianship and dance-floor movement at the centre.
