About this release
Identity Spectrum brings together ViiV, Sister Zo, Snad and Titonton Duvanté for a compilation spanning dubby house, broken rhythms and techno. ViiV opens with 5 Dollar Shake, using subdued vocals and a restrained groove to build suspense. Sister Zo’s Diamond Hands introduces sharper percussion and jungle-inflected breaks within a techno framework. Snad takes a more stripped-back approach on Off Tha Marrow, working with looping rhythms and abstract details, before Duvanté closes with the smoother tech-house movement of Unrequited. The four contributions connect through their rhythmic focus while maintaining distinct approaches to space, texture and dancefloor tension.
