About this release
Villette Holmes’s Slow Down balances a heavy digital reggae rhythm with melodic hooks and a dreamy, soulful feel. Produced in 1992 by Cedrica Anthony Hamilton, known as Soljie, it reflects the Channel One engineer’s close connection to reggae and dancehall production. Isle Of Jura’s reissue pairs the original with its dub version and a previously unreleased extended treatment, bringing the track’s vocal, instrumental detail and spacious production into different focus. Licensed from Soljie’s son Chioke Hamilton, this edition is pressed on 140g vinyl in a full-colour disco sleeve designed by Bradley Pinkerton.
Format: 140g 12-inch vinyl; full-colour disco sleeve with 3mm spine
Label: Isle Of Jura Records
