About this release
Fast Forward presents four tracks from Virgil 'Vincent' Work Jr.'s 1987 cassette debut, selected for 12-inch vinyl by Music From Memory. The St. Louis musician developed the recordings through late-night sessions with his brother Scott, using synthesizers, drum machines, sequencing and digital effects. Rather than working from written scores, the sessions grew through improvisation and experiments with the equipment's possibilities. The selection includes The New Age, Don't Wait, Be Easy and Morning Love, tracing a more stripped-back side of the artist also associated with Workdub. This EP is a four-track selection from the cassette, rather than a reissue of its entire programme.
