About this release
Warda’s We Malo presents Baligh Hamdi’s composition in two extended parts, recorded in 1975 with a full Egyptian orchestra. Her vocal performance sits within traditional Arabic arrangements enriched by electric guitar and organ, connecting the orchestra’s classical language with the sounds of the decade. The two-part programme gives the performance room to unfold across both sides of the LP. Wewantsounds’ edition uses the original cassette artwork and newly remastered audio from Coloursound Studio in Paris. It also includes a two-page insert with an introduction by Mario Choueiry of the Institut du Monde Arabe.
Format: Black vinyl LP, remastered, two-page insert
