Warsaw captures the early recordings of the Manchester group that became Joy Division, with Ian Curtis, Bernard Albrecht, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris finding their sound. The main session dates from May 1978 and includes early versions of ‘Transmission’, ‘Interzone’ and ‘Shadowplay’. These recordings document the band’s formative repertoire before the albums that would bring their music to a wider audience.

Alongside those eleven session tracks, this edition includes ‘As You Said’ and five demos recorded at Pennine Studios in July 1977 with Steve Brotherdale on drums. It brings seventeen tracks together, tracing an earlier chapter through songs such as ‘Leaders Of Men’, ‘Failures’ and ‘Novelty’. Vinyl Passion presents the collection as a limited edition dolphin coloured vinyl LP.
