About this release
2000 & One revisits Tropical Melons for Rekids, joining Bart Skils and Mark Broom on a new set of versions. Originally released on Dylan Hermelijn’s 100% Pure label in 2007, the track returns with its synth-led identity intact. Skils sharpens the electronic edges, while Broom places raw, jackin’ drum work beneath the original’s dubbed melody. Hermelijn’s own 2026 Mix refines the production and nudges the pace forward. Rather than repeating the original arrangement, the three versions draw different balances between the track’s melodic pull, rhythmic pressure and house-and-techno foundations.
