About this release
Paesaggio Bellico collects Alessandro Alessandroni’s music for war films and television documentaries, written and recorded between 1969 and 1978. The arrangements move between military tension and more reflective passages, using his whistle, twelve-string acoustic guitar and fuzz-treated electric guitar alongside strings and the voices of the Cantori Moderni. Eighteen pieces make up the vinyl selection, from “Pattugliamento Aereo” and “Lettere Dal Fronte” to “Sognando La Pace” and “I Sopravvissuti”. Four Flies presents the archive recordings in a tip-on sleeve with artwork by Eric Adrien Lee and a printed inner sleeve carrying an inverted variation of the cover design.
