About this release
Alex Kassian reworks Manuel Göttsching’s E2–E4 for Test Pressing Recordings, developing its central musical figure across an extended twelve-minute arrangement. Kassian mixed and produced the recording at Opal Studio, with additional piano from Stuart Moir and guitar from E Ruscha V. On the reverse, Mad Professor’s Qantas Crazy Remix opens the material into a dub treatment, using effects and delays to shift the focus around the groove. His remix was made at Ariwa Sounds. The two-track twelve-inch brings Kassian’s cover and Mad Professor’s version together, connecting the composition’s repeating electronic pattern with a different approach to studio space.
