About this release
Back To Black brings Amy Winehouse’s candid songwriting and distinctive voice into a setting inspired by 1960s soul and girl groups. Working with producers Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, she moves from the defiance of “Rehab” and the conversational detail of “You Know I’m No Good” to the stripped emotional focus of “Love Is A Losing Game”. The title track and “Tears Dry On Their Own” place bittersweet melodies beside lyrics drawn from personal experience. Originally released in 2006, her second studio album is presented here as the standard eleven-track Island Records LP on 180g vinyl.
