About this release
Peruvian producer Aristidez builds Uncultured Rhythms around the hypnotic possibilities of percussion. The Multi Culti album moves between broken rave rhythms, proto-trance, dub and downtempo electronics, drawing on different tempos while keeping its arrangements rooted in rhythm. A cofounder of Lima’s Casa Locasa collective and the Behua Icara label, Aristidez brings that background into subtle, layered productions. ‘Gastonia Dub’, ‘Spiritual Playboy’ and ‘Mendoza’s Flight’ lead the first side, with Raw C appearing on ‘Kaleisthenics’. The reverse continues through ‘Origin’, ‘Make Flutes With My Bones’ and ‘Amniotico’, completing the seven-track vinyl programme.
