Asa Tate - Replica

Asa Tate brings nineties house references into contemporary production on Replica, his Rhythm Section EP following appearances on the label’s SHOUTS compilations. The title track moves from a floating introduction into sampled vocals, piano chords and a bouncing bassline. ‘89’ features Dariam Coco, setting soft chords against larger drum fills, while ‘Unknowns’ holds its tension through a more restrained arrangement. ‘Last Dance’ closes on a gentler, reflective note, keeping the rhythm moving without the same peak-time pressure. Across the EP, Tate connects dream-house atmosphere and classic club sounds with the detailed production approach developed under his earlier Tech Support name.
