Aubrey - Marathon (Reissue)

Aubrey’s Marathon returns on Solid Groove, revisiting a three-track release first issued on Offshoot in 1997. The title cut pairs liquid synthesizers and dubby bass, with a warm lead line giving its groove a more open feel. Evacuation follows on the reverse with a firmer, more mechanical rhythm and a tightly focused melodic figure. 6 Pole sits between those approaches, adding a soul-influenced touch while retaining the record’s rhythmic drive. The reissue brings the original selection together again, showing the different balances of texture, bass and motion within Aubrey’s techno.
