About this release
Aubrey returns to Solid Groove with four new tracks made after a substantial change to his studio setup. Solid Groove Trax Vol 2 reconnects with Allen Saei's established techno language through firm drums, understated synth detail and a sense of space around the groove. Timing Shock opens with weighty kicks and lighter electronic lines, while Complex Vortex takes a more twisting route. Spinning Gravity draws on the warmth of Detroit-style machine funk, and Cracker Jacker closes with a more distant, atmospheric character. The record balances the physical pulse of the drums with melodic and textural details that emerge through repetition.
