About this release
Audrey Hall's Eight Little Notes pairs her warm, melodic vocal with the synth-rich sound of mid-eighties rub-a-dub. This Planets seven-inch draws on Donovan Germain's original multitracks, presenting previously unreleased mixes made in direct collaboration with the producer. The vocal cut leads the A-side, while “Notes In Dub” gives the rhythm a different shape on the flip, opening space for the bass, drums and echo. Germain is credited for the dub, making this a compact vocal-and-version pairing that connects Hall's lovers-rock phrasing with a heavier soundsystem approach.
